Welcome to the newest area of James Kelsey Studios (dot com). Generally, James prefers to create work from Stainless Steel and Bronze, but recently, Two Vaults Gallery of Tacoma, Washington challenged him to create a series to pair with an industrial paintings show. This required James to think in an entirely new way. Instead of sketching, drawing, and calculating, he had to create 'on the fly', but he didn't want this new work to simply be 'junk welded together'. Technically, these pieces are assemblages created from rusty steel, transmission parts, and found steel, but we hope you agree that the final forms of these pieces reach the level of "fine art".
