Nod To Mondrian / Bow to Miro Acrylic Paint & Recycled Steel 81" x 18" x 19" 206cm x 46cm x 49cm James will be the first to say that it's true, the "Mondrian" side does NOT look like a Mondrian and ditto for the Miro side (further down this page).   This is the very first of an ongoing series of "Steel Canvases" TM .   James found the canvas and immediately saw a Mondrian-style image in it and had to take it back to his studio.   After painting it, he realized the 1/2" (1.25cm) thick hulk was far too heavy to easily hang, and since necessity is the mother of invention, he created a sculptural base on which to mount his canvass.
