Venetian Boat / Raw Steel Acrylic Paint & Recycled Steel 78" x 14" x 18" 198cm x 36cm x 41cm Glorious colors exist everywhere in Venice; in its glasswork, masks, and natural beauty.   While exploring a canal far off the beaten path, James came across a brightly painted rowboat covered with a tarp. These colors combined with the glowing color of the canal itself inspired this wonderful painting. On the reverse of this Steel CanvassTM (further down this page) there is no painting.   This was done on purpose because of the incredible patina created by the steel itself.   The result is that from one viewing, this piece is a beautifully executed painting, yet when turned around, it is a pure, mesmerizing sculpture with incredible depth of patina.
